What is MiniPOW?
MiniPOW is proof-of-work engineered around ultra-low-power physical devices. The goal is efficient participation rather than a proportional advantage from throwing vastly more computing power at the network.
The current Mini Miners development Testnet connects real ESP32 miners to a pool/server that assigns MiniPOW work, validates shares and records testnet rewards. It helps us test the technology before the public Pioneer Network launches.
MiniPOW is proof-of-work engineered around ultra-low-power physical devices. The goal is efficient participation rather than a proportional advantage from throwing vastly more computing power at the network.
The network adjusts mining difficulty to help measure genuine work across different devices. Each miner must meet the initial minimum of 6.0 MiniPOW calculations per second. Once a miner qualifies, running faster does not earn that miner extra MINI.
MiniPOW/s is the miner-reported number of complete MiniPOW work attempts performed each second. It is intentionally shown instead of pretending MiniPOW is conventional SHA-style hashrate.
The development Testnet helps us find real failures in Wi-Fi recovery, OTA firmware, miner identity, wallets, difficulty, rewards, pool infrastructure and long-running miner behavior before Pioneer launches.
The ESP32 protocol is being designed so existing hardware can continue working as the backend matures. The current development Testnet uses server-side accounting. Pioneer will be the first public network where miners can earn real MINI, with balances maintained by network servers. The later Mainnet will introduce an independent blockchain and nodes, with miner-side changes delivered remotely wherever practical.
